About the Role

The Louise is seeking a Temporary Head/Sous Chef for a 4+ week contract to support our kitchen team at Appellation Restaurant, the award-winning dining destination at the heart of the Barossa Valley.

Working alongside a talented kitchen team, you will assist in delivering refined, produce-driven menus that showcase the best of South Australia. This is a hands-on role, supporting daily kitchen operations and ensuring consistency, quality and efficiency during service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the day-to-day kitchen operations at Appellation
• Assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
• Maintaining exceptional food standards and consistency
• Supporting the team during service periods in a fast-paced environment
• Upholding food safety and hygiene standards

About You

You are an experienced chef with a passion for high-quality produce and refined dining. You bring a calm, organised approach to service and enjoy working collaboratively within a professional kitchen.

You will ideally have:

• Experience as a Head Chef or a Sous Chef
• A strong passion for seasonal, produce-driven cooking
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• A positive, team-focused attitude
