Initially 1 month fixed term contract with opportunity to extend month to month

Working hours: Monday to Friday 9-5

About the Opportunity

As the Housekeeping Team Leader, your primary focus will be providing efficient management and coordination of the cleaning and laundry operations, ensuring a safe, high-quality cleaning and laundry service to our residents in compliance with legislative requirements. 

This is a hands-on position that requires you to lead from the front.

  • Directing and supervising staff in their duties

  • Rostering and replacing staff when absent

  • Ensuring staff are competent to use machinery required for their position

  • Ensuring that cleaning of residents’ rooms and public areas meets the standards and infection control

  • Ensuring that laundry services are conducted in a safe and efficient way that meets the needs of the site and residents

  • Reporting any evidence of pest infestation and breakdown in equipment or standards

  • Responsible for managing and working within budgets for cleaning & laundry

  • Manage the ordering, delivery, stock control and storage processes

About you

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in housekeeping

  • Demonstrated experience in positive staff motivation and enhancement of performance of teams

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written

  • Highly organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times

  • Highly motivated and able to take initiative

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment at all times

  • Understanding of the Residents’ Charter of Rights, highly desirable

  • Understanding of the Standards and Guidelines for Residential Aged Care Services, highly desirable
