Join our Ambalindum Aggregation team in the Northern Territory, located just 90km north of Alice Springs. Spanning 1.8 million acres across the stunning East MacDonnell Ranges, Ambalindum offers a genuine remote station lifestyle. This role is ideal for a hands-on person who thrives in remote environments and enjoys the challenges and rewards of station life. 

About the Roles 

As our team continues to evolve, we are looking to hire a Station Cook and a Bore Runner as individuals or a couple. Hewitt presents an exciting opportunity for someone seeking a career in a challenging yet rewarding environment, working amongst a highly professional, industry-leading team.  

The roles present the opportunity to live on-site and immerse yourself in the business. Reporting directly to Station Management, you will be a driven and committed team player who is focused on progressing their career. 

Station Cook – Ambalindum Aggregation (NT) 

This is a hands-on role cooking hearty, home-style meals for around 5-6 people in a friendly, family-style station environment.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Cooking meals for station management and the station team 
  • Ordering stores & rations including town runs for parts & equipment as needed. 
  • General station duties & maintenance ie. watering of lawn, light gardening work 

About you 

  • Enjoys cooking wholesome, nutritional and filling meals as well as baking 
  • Is organised and takes pride in a clean kitchen 
  • Is happy to help with a range of station duties 
  • Enjoys remote living and being part of a small team 
  • Experience with lawns & garden maintenance advantageous 

 Bore Runner – Ambalindum Aggregation (NT) 

This is an exciting opportunity for a station hand/bore runner to live and work in the heart of the Australian outback. 

 Key Responsibilities 

Maintain bores, troughs & water points to keep livestock healthy Service equipment & fences Monitor stock & report any issues Jump in to help across the property when needed – no two days are the same!  

About you 

Honest, reliable, and self-sufficient – someone who takes initiative/gets things done Able to follow instructions, work safely, and handle physical work Comfortable living remotely and embracing the rhythm of station life Handy with tools and equipment – or eager to learn! A natural troubleshooter who communicates effectively and confidently
