We’re currently looking for expressions of interest for a part-time sandwich hand/kitchen hand

With our restaurant open 7 days, this role is responsible for preparing exceptional sandwiches, wraps, fruit platters as well as basic food preparation at our Gymea venue, that ensures our members and guests experiences whilst dining are nothing short of exceptional, we’re looking for a dedicated Sandwich hand /Kitchen hand to join our wonderful team. This role is 5 hours per day, 5 days per week (Wed - Sun)*

*days may be negotiable if required



Requirements

Key Accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Adherence to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Preparation and assembly of sandwiches, wraps and simple menu items
  • Preparation of fruit platters and basic food prep tasks (e.g. cutting, portioning, stocking)
  • Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, prep areas and equipment
  • Dishwashing and general cleaning duties
  • Safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals in line with procedures
  • Waste management, including correct sorting and disposal of food and packaging
  • Following menus, food standards, recipes and preparation processes consistently
  • Supporting efficient service by ensuring items are prepared, stocked and ready as required
  • Maintaining presentation standards of food to ensure a consistent, high-quality offering

Essential capabilities:

  • Ability to follow food preparation instructions, recipes and portion control requirements
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards (or willingness to obtain Food Safety / Food Handling certification)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality with a consistent approach to shifts
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment at all times
  • Physical capability to perform kitchen duties (standing for long periods, repetitive tasks, light lifting)
  • Awareness of allergen management and safe food handling practices
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house teams during service
  • Previous experience in a café, sandwich bar or fast-paced kitchen environment (preferred but not essential)
