Part Time Term Time – 35 hours/week – Monday to Friday – 6.30am – 2.00pm

Retail: $32.95/hour

Commencing: 20 April 2026 to 30 November 2026

About the Position

The Retail Assistant plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Jennifer Reeves Cafeteria. Working collaboratively under the direction of the Retail Supervisor, you will assist with food preparation, sales of food and beverages, stock control and cleaning. You will prepare and coordinate a range of healthy and nutritious menu items to an acceptable industry standard, operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, and ensure all goods received comply with FSANZ legislation requirements.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team under the direction of the Retail Supervisor
  • Friendly, punctual and reliable
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a methodical, safe, systematic and efficient manner
  • Experience or ability in food preparation and basic kitchen operations
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems (desirable)
  • Current Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • Current CPR/First Aid Qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a Queensland Food Handlers Certification
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing and lifting.
