Senior Server Engineer

Our esteemed Federal Govt. client is seeking an experienced Senior Server Engineer for a 12 month contract role.
As the Senior Server Engineer, you will provide specialist Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware administration services as part of a team to build, manage and maintain the organisation’s application-hosting environment.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain Windows Server and Active Directory environments in support of migrating workloads to a new Active Directory Forest in a sensitive and high-availability environment, following all relevant policies and procedures.
- Design, implement and maintain VMware virtualisation infrastructure.
- Implement security remediation and uplift.
- Implement and utilise various monitoring, vulnerability, and fault analysis tools to troubleshoot and optimize operating environments.
- Install, customise, and maintain Windows server operating systems and server hardware to meet client needs and in accordance with service level expectations.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems in consultation with clients, staff, external service providers and vendors.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing and managing Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience performing Active Directory migrations in high-availability environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing and managing VMware virtualisation infrastructure in accordance with VMware recommendations.
- High attention to detail with good communication skills with stakeholders and clients, and experienced in technical writing.
