The Role

As a Reservations Agent, you will handle guest bookings with accuracy, efficiency, and true five-star service. Your goal is to ensure every reservation is managed with care, contributing to our hotel’s occupancy goals while creating a seamless and welcoming pre-arrival experience.

General Responsibilities

Reservations & Guest Experience

• Accurately receive and process guest reservations in line with Paradox Sydney standards.
• Listen carefully to guest needs, ask thoughtful questions, and recommend the best room options, rates, and packages.
• Respond to all reservation enquiries within a 24-hour timeframe.
• Review upcoming reservations and allocate rooms in advance to ensure a smooth guest arrival.
• Provide warm, personalized service that consistently exceeds guest expectations.

Sales & Revenue Support

• Contribute to maximizing occupancy and revenue by effectively applying hotel rates, promotions, and packages.
• Maintain accurate room inventory control to ensure availability updates are precise.
• Share sales leads with relevant departments to support wider business opportunities.
• Promote strong communication between the Reservations, Reception, and Sales teams regarding availability, new rates, and special offers.
• Provide feedback to the Reservations Manager on opportunities to enhance systems, processes, and guest experience.

Teamwork & Communication

• Stay informed about daily events, banquet activities, and guest programs to better support guest needs.
• Assist other Front Office areas when required and when time permits.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, colleagues, and leadership teams.
• Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating effectively and offering support where needed.

Service Excellence

• Meet and exceed Paradox Service and People Standards at all times.
• Handle challenging situations with grace and professionalism, always following company policies.
• Treat all guests, colleagues, and management with respect and genuine hospitality.
• Respond to urgent (“crunch”) calls when available.
• Provide value-added service that may be simple in delivery but meaningful in impact.

Pay & Conditions

This is a Level 3, Front Office Grade 2 part time position under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award. You’ll be rostered from Monday–Friday on either a 08:00 AM – 4:00 PM shift or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM shift, in line with business operations. There is an occasional rotating Saturday shift, from 10:00 am – 2:00 PM.
