XDI is part of The Climate Risk Group. Across the group, we have around 50 team members based in Australia and Europe.

This is a fixed-term position for 1 month.

The Role

XDI has developed an online portfolio processing system that serves thousands of clients / millions of assets daily. This system is now required to operate on the scale of large global datasets, which in particular requires efficient storage, analytical processing, and geospatial aggregations on the order of billions of assets. We thus need an alternate OLAP storage backend for our system that trades away online access for scale.

The role will lead the research, evaluation, selection, and scaling of an appropriate OLAP database technology. They will collaborate with and mentor the Engineering teams on the design and maintenance concerns of this system. 

Responsibilities also include developing and optimising analytical queries to produce aggregated datasets and insights, including custom aggregations; ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability for advanced analytics use cases.

Your Experience

You have expert knowledge of the universe of OLAP Open Source Databases, and experience in implementing, operationalising and optimising databases to manage huge data volumes, and effective and efficient analytics. Your experience includes end-to-end systems that manage data from inception through to analytics.
