Kitchen Coordinator – Curiosity Tree Burpengary

Full-time | Monday to Friday | $30–$35/hr + WRP

Do you love bringing joy through food, and take pride in a kitchen that runs well?

Curiosity Tree Burpengary is looking for a Kitchen Coordinator to run our centre kitchen day to day. You’ll heat, finish and serve nutritious meals to children aged 0–5, keep the kitchen clean and organised, and make sure our food safety standards are met every day.

This is a step up from a standard kitchen hand role. You’ll be the person our team relies on to make sure every child gets the right meal, safely, every time. That includes children with allergies and special dietary needs. If you want real responsibility in a kitchen without the nights and weekends, we’d love to hear from you. This is a permanent role.

💚 What You Get

• $30–$35/hr, with the ECEC Worker Retention Payment on top

• Weekday hours, [hours, e.g. 7:00am–2:00pm]. No nights, weekends or public holidays.

• Your own kitchen to run

• Training and mentoring from a team of enthusiastic and experienced chefs

• Funded Food Safety Supervisor and allergen training if you don’t already hold them

• Childcare discount

• Free onsite parking

• A modern, well-equipped kitchen

• Supportive, collaborative leadership that listens and appreciates you • Wellbeing initiatives & team appreciation (we love a celebration!)

🍎 What You’ll Be Doing

Meals

• Receiving and checking food deliveries

• Safely heating, finishing, portioning and serving daily meals and snacks

• Preparing simple items such as fruit, sandwiches and bottles, as needed

• Joining in simple food preparation activities with children, supporting fun food-based learning

Allergens and dietary needs

• Keeping each child’s allergy and dietary information up to date, working with our Centre Manager and educators

• Making sure every child receives the right meal, with clear labelling and checks before food leaves the kitchen

• Preventing cross-contact through careful storage, preparation and serving

• Raising any concerns or changes straight away

Running the kitchen

• Following our food safety program, including temperature checks and daily records

• Keeping the kitchen clean, sanitised and well organised at all times

• Managing stock, storage, date labelling and ordering of kitchen supplies

• Looking after equipment and reporting maintenance needs

• Being ready for food safety audits and inspections

• Sharing feedback with our chef team on what the children enjoy

🌳 About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Organised and careful, with a sharp eye for detail

• Confident working on their own and making sound decisions

• Warm, reliable and positive • A clear communicator with educators, chefs and families

• Calm when the kitchen is busy

• Genuinely fond of children and proud to be part of their day

🎓 What You Bring

• Experience in a commercial kitchen, hospitality, aged care or childcare kitchen

• A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

• Food Handling Certificate • Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain)

• Allergen management training or experience (or willingness to complete training)

• Confidence keeping accurate daily records

• A current Blue Card

• Physically fit for the demands of the role, including standing for long periods, safely bending, lifting and carrying and responding quickly in an emergency

📍 Getting here: Easy access from the Bruce Hwy. Close to Morayfield, Narangba, Caboolture and Deception Bay.

Apply now with your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you’d be a great fit. (No agencies please!) Applicants must supply two professional references, one of whom must have held a recent supervisory or management role within an early childhood or education service.
