Position Details

Palm Lake Care Caloundra is seeking Food Service Assistants and Housekeeping Attendants to join our team on a Casual Basis.

 

Responsibilities

As a Food Services Assistant you will report directly to the Chef Manager and be an integral part of the team responsible for:

  • The preparation of serving nutritious and attractive meals to our residents
  • Working with the Cook to ensure meals are plated and presented in an attractive and appeasing manner.
  • Understanding and respecting our resident's preferences and ensuring all food and beverage is served accordingly.
  • Serving and distribution of morning and afternoon teas
  • Assisting the Cook with the ordering and rotating of food stocks
  • The cleaning of dishes after each meal ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained for our residents.
  • Delivering excellent customer service to our residents and their families

As a Housekeeping Attendant your position plays a critical role in the cleanliness, and subsequent health, of our aged care community.

  • Maintain a hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment for elderly residents, supporting their health and wellbeing.
  • Apply strong knowledge of hygiene standards, infection control practices, and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills to address cleaning and environmental health challenges.
  • Perform daily cleaning of resident suites and common areas, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and waste removal.
  • Support effective dust management and infection prevention measures throughout the community.
  • Use cleaning products safely and appropriately, with an understanding of their impact on elderly health.
  • Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team under the guidance of the Housekeeping Team Leader.
  • Contribute to creating a comfortable, homely environment that enhances residents’ quality of life.
  • Play an essential role in maintaining a clean, healthy, and welcoming community for residents, visitors, and staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Motivated individuals focused on providing the best support for our residents
  • A current National Police Check
  • Prior experience in a similar role within Aged Care essential
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their effect on elderly health
  • Readiness and willing to learn new skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and take initiative
  • Ability to work as a part of a team in a proactive support role to cook
  • Excellent hygiene standards
  • A Knowledge of Food Safety Standards
