We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Early Childhood Cook / Chef to join our friendly team and help us continue providing fresh, healthy, age-appropriate meals that children enjoy and families feel confident about.
This is a permanent part-time position, working Monday to Friday between 8am and 3pm. We are open to consider full-time hours.
What you’ll be doing
- Planning, preparing and cooking daily meals and snacks for children
- Ensuring all meals meet nutritional needs and dietary requirements
- Creating a nutritious seasonal menu aligned with Nutrition Australia guidelines
- Managing food allergies and special dietary needs with care and confidence
- Maintaining a clean, organised and well-run kitchen
- Following all food safety and hygiene standards
- Ordering stock and managing kitchen supplies
- Maintaining the Food Safety Manual (checklists, audits, compliance records)
- Working closely with the centre team to support children’s needs
What we’re looking for
- Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery (minimum)
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Certificate 3 in Children’s Services (advantageous)
- Experience in a childcare centre cook role (or similar)
- Strong experience in food preparation and service in a business environment
- A genuine interest in early childhood education and care
- Great time management and organisation skills
- A positive, professional and team-focused approach
