College Cafe Assistant

Position available at 0.80 FTE (Mon–Thurs) or Full-Time (Mon–Fri)

Fixed Term until 26 January 2027

Marist-Sion College is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to support the daily operations of the College Cafe and contribute to providing quality service for our College community.

About the Role

Reporting to the College Café Manager, you will assist with the daily operations of the café and support the delivery of quality food and customer service to students, staff and visitors. The hours of work will be either 7:30am–3:36pm or 8:30am–4:36pm (FTE) and are determined by the operational requirements of the College Café.

Key responsibilities include

• Preparation and cooking of food
• Providing excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors
• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment
• Handling and balancing financial transactions
• Supporting general café operations
• Assisting the Canteen Manager with administration roles as required

• $51,622.00 - $54,847.00 FTE + 12% Super
• Paid school holidays (non-term weeks), in accordance with the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited Schools and Secretariat Agreement  (approximately 12 weeks per year)

Requirements

• Food Safety Certificate (essential)
• First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Working with Children Check and National Police Check
• Food preparation or catering experience (highly regarded)
