About the role

Baptcare is seeking a compassionate Chef to support our residents through nutritious, thoughtfully prepared meals that honour individual needs and preferences.

Salary- $32.83 per hour + 25% casual loading + NFP benefits

Casual role with shifts across AM and PM (weekdays preferred)

 

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver high‑quality meals, including therapeutic diets and special dietary requirements, aligned with resident needs and preferences
  • Follow set menus and recipes to ensure timely, consistent and well‑presented food service
  • Support the Head Chef with daily food safety compliance, stock control and kitchen standards
  • Maintain exceptional food handling and hygiene practices across all dining and service areas
  • Assist with meal delivery, café operations, and the planning and execution of functions and events within the residence

 

About you:

  • Mandatory Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005, HLTFSE007)
  • Relevant Industry Training – Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate.
  • Commercial Cookery Certificate III / IV is required.
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, and special diet preparation.
  • Previous experience working in catering within a residential aged care facility.

 

Compliance/Checks required

  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Relevant worker screening/clearance as required (e.g., NDIS Worker Screening Check/WWCC where applicable).
  • Proof of working rights in Australia.
