We are looking for a passionate and reliable Casual Chef to join the kitchen team at the Saracens Head Hotel, a busy Adelaide CBD venue known for its strong food offering, great atmosphere and American BBQ / low-and-slow style menu.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, you will assist with day-to-day kitchen operations, food preparation and service across a fast-paced pub environment.
Key tasks include:
- Preparing and cooking meals to a high and consistent standard;
- Supporting service across lunch, dinner and busy trade periods;
- Following recipes, portion control and presentation standards;
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen;
- Assisting with stock rotation, prep lists and general kitchen duties;
- Working collaboratively with the front of house team; and
- Bringing a positive, hands-on attitude to every shift.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a pub, restaurant or fast-paced kitchen;
- A genuine passion for food and quality service;
- Strong communication and time management skills;
- Ability to stay calm and organised during busy periods;
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards;
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including nights and weekends; and
- A team-first attitude, because kitchens are already chaotic enough without ego garnish.
