1889 Enoteca is an Italian restaurant and wine bar in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, specialising in classic Roman cuisine and Italian wines. We offer guests a welcoming dining experience centred on quality food, knowledgeable service and a carefully selected wine list.
About the Role
1889 Enoteca is seeking an experienced Trade Waiter to join its front-of-house team. The role is suited to a service-focused professional with strong food and wine knowledge who can deliver attentive, professional service throughout each guest’s visit.
Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and seat guests, present menus and wine lists, and assist with reservations;
• Explain dishes, specials and beverages, including suitable food and wine pairings;
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate them to kitchen and bar staff;
• Serve food and beverages professionally and coordinate the timing of service;
• Open and pour wine and other beverages;
• Monitor guests’ needs, respond to requests and maintain a high standard of customer service;
• Set up and clear tables in line with restaurant presentation standards;
• Process payments using the POS system;
• Maintain clean, organised dining and service areas;
• Follow food safety, hygiene and responsible service of alcohol requirements.

About You

• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Waiter or in a similar restaurant service role;
• Sound knowledge of food and wine, with the confidence to make recommendations;
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to stay organised and work effectively during busy services;
• Professional presentation and attention to detail;
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays;
• A valid Queensland RSA certificate, or willingness to obtain one before commencing.
