The Venue Duty Manager will oversee and coordinate the activities of all staff engaged in employment within their venue. Working with the Food & Beverage Management Team a primary responsibility is to drive the continuous improvement of functions and facilitate the effective and safe operation of the venue. Working within the team, the Venue Manager is to provide leadership and guidance to all and work with Supervisors to implement strategies for increasing safety, work satisfaction and productivity.  This role may concentrate on one particular venue or it may work across Thredbo’s various restaurants, bars, cafes and hotel outlets, which means It is a requirement to maintain a strong level of knowledge about the resort, as to provide information to guests and employees as required.     About the role Complete and coordinate daily operational requirements of the food and beverage venue as required, whilst maintaining a high visibility for guests.  Maintain consistency and actively problem solve issues in product quality, presentation and delivery of all food and beverage offerings.  Monitor cash handling practices ensuring transactions are correctly processed with no discrepancies and complete reconciliation of computerised tills including EFTPOS.  Maintain the venues presentation and ambiance meets the required ‘personality’, embracing the theme of the venue’s atmosphere to ensure the best possible experience.  Operate equipment according to the company’s policies and procedures, ensuring it’s safe and correct, limiting breakages and reporting any maintenance issues.  Comply with safe food practises and the NSW Liquor Act. Liaise with the licensee on matters of RSA while maintaining a complete understanding and interpretation of NSW Liquor licencing laws.  Assist in the maintenance of consistent beverage, labour, and general supplies costs.   Maintain knowledge of the business plans and assist the Food & Beverage Management Team in meeting these goals.   Communicate to the IT department where technology issues arise as quick as possible.  Implement measures to meet all financial targets for the venue.  Assist Stores in stocktake.  Assist with promotions and marketing specific to the venue.  Any other duties required in the day-to-day operation of the Food & Beverage Department and resort facilities as directed by Managers.       Skills & Experience Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Previous experience and/ or appropriate level of training in supervising others Previous experience in a similar role or deemed competent to fulfil the role Strong communication and conflict resolution skills Strong customer service knowledge    About Thredbo Thredbo is Australia’s premier year-round alpine destination.
