Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of a busy commercial catering kitchen.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented to consistently high quality standards.
- Supervise, motivate, and support the kitchen team throughout production and service.
- Coordinate kitchen workflows to ensure efficient preparation and timely delivery.
- Monitor labour productivity, kitchen performance, and food cost controls.
- Minimise food waste and maintain accurate stock management.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.
- Work collaboratively with management to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
About You
- Previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie, Junior Sous Chef, or Sous Chef.
- Experience working in high-volume commercial kitchens, catering, hotels, or events.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Highly organised with excellent time management.
- Passionate about maintaining quality while driving operational excellence.
- Ability to work under pressure and lead by example.
- Sound understanding of food safety standards and kitchen operations.
- Must have unrestricted Australian working rights (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen). Applicants requiring visa sponsorship or with work restrictions will not be considered.
