Purpose:  As Sommelier, you will be a seasoned and well-versed wine professional, excelling in every facet of beverage service. Your aim is to invigorate the dining experience for our guests, offering expert guidance on choosing wines, orchestrating perfect food and wine pairings, and guaranteeing impeccable wine service.  Location: Sydney, NSW 2000  Contract Type: Permanent Full Time  Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation    Primary Responsibilities  Developing wine lists and programmes, curating contemporary beverage lists and cocktail menus   Collaborating closely with the Restaurant Managers and Kitchen Team to offer well-informed wine recommendations that align with food pairings for guests  Connecting with guests in a way that makes them feel comfortable and part of the wine-and-dining experience  Developing relationships with local vineyards and distributors to create connections and ensure reliable procurement  Managing and maintaining stock  Providing education and training for other staff members, expanding their wine and beverage knowledge  Drive sales and establish Grain of the Silos as leader in Tasmania for depth of selection, service and connection to our producers, growers, winemakers and distillers  Ensuring the outlets are well presented, operating efficiently and the team have tools and equipment required to deliver a high standard of service     Skills and Experience  A valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate in the relevant Country/ State/ Territory  Certificate III in Hospitality (Restaurant Front of House) or equivalent is required, or 2 years of relevant experience.  Membership of Australian Sommelier Association and or a minimum of WSET Level 2; WSET Level 3 or Diploma is highly regarded  Established track record in a similar role, coupled with extensive knowledge of wine and understanding of the local hospitality market  Dedication to delivering an outstanding dining experience for our guests  Passion, keen interest, and confidence in coffee, wine, and spirits, with a focus on locally sourced products to ensure the quality and consistency of our offerings  Outstanding leadership abilities, evidenced by a proven history of team development and motivation; your lead-by-example approach will be contagious
