Job description

The Housekeeping and Administration Assistant role, titled Property Host, is a newly created position within our company. As the primary onsite point of contact at a small hotel, you will play a key role in maintaining exceptional property standards and delivering a seamless guest experience.

This hands-on role has a strong focus on housekeeping and overall property presentation. You will take ownership of the hotel’s day-to-day operations, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are consistently cleaned, well-maintained, and presented in line with Veriu standards.

A significant portion of the role involves personally undertaking and overseeing housekeeping tasks, including room cleaning, public area upkeep, linen handling, and quality assurance checks. During periods of increased demand, the Property Host will coordinate an additional housekeeper to support room turnover.

Beyond housekeeping responsibilities, you will also support onsite guest services by preparing for contactless arrivals, responding promptly to guest enquiries and issues, and acting as the hotel’s onsite duty manager during opening hours. The role includes managing basic maintenance concerns, incident reporting, draft rostering, linen and inventory control, and coordinating VIP amenities.

With a strong attention to detail and pride in presentation, combined with a warm and professional communication style, the Property Host ensures smooth daily operations and a high-quality guest experience. You will work closely with the remote Front Office team and Hotel Manager, providing confident onsite oversight while benefiting from the support of the broader hotel leadership team.



Skills And Experiences

Demonstrated working knowledge of:

  • Housekeeping operations, including cleaning standards, room presentation, and quality control
  • Day-to-day hotel operations, preferably within a small property or boutique environment
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage guest enquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal
  • A collaborative and inclusive working style, with the ability to coordinate support staff when required
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over presentation standards
  • Time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a hands-on environment
  • Basic maintenance awareness and confidence in identifying and reporting issues
  • Inventory and linen management, including stock control and ordering awareness
  • Confidence using hotel systems or the ability to quickly learn new technology
  • Local area knowledge to provide helpful recommendations and enhance the guest experience
