Host Family Recruitment & Placement Coordinator

EF International Language Campuses – Sydney (Chippendale)

Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 + super

Reporting to: Accommodation Manager

 

EF Sydney is looking for a highly organized and service-driven Host Family Recruitment & Placement Coordinator to join our Accommodation team at our Chippendale campus.

In this role, your primary focus will be connecting with prospective host families who have already expressed interest in hosting, guiding them through the process and converting enquiries into active host placements.

Alongside this, you will support the placement of international students into accommodation, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for both students and hosts.

This is a fast-paced, communication-heavy role where confidence on the phone, strong follow-up, and attention to detail are key.

 

What you’ll be doing

Host Family Enquiries & Conversion (Primary Focus)

  • Follow up on warm inbound enquiries from prospective host families (no cold calling) 
  • Speak with potential hosts via phone and email, building rapport and trust 
  • Guide hosts through the onboarding process and convert enquiries into active placements 
  • Ensure all questions are answered clearly and expectations are set from the start 

Student Placement & Coordination

  • Match students to suitable accommodation based on availability and 

preferences 

  • Manage multiple placements simultaneously, often within tight timelines 
  • Handle accommodation-related queries from students, including walk-ins 

Operations & Quality

  • Maintain accurate accommodation records and documentation 
  • Support home visits and ensure compliance with EF standards and local requirements 
  • Track activity, follow-ups, and placement outcomes with the Accommodation team 

General Support

  • Work closely with Student Services and other departments 
  • Participate in the school’s emergency on-call rotation 

Who you are

  • Confident and comfortable speaking on the phone and building rapport 

quickly 

  • Experienced in customer service, coordination, or inbound sales / lead conversion roles 
  • Strong follow-up skills - you don’t let leads drop 
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple conversations and 

priorities 

  • Detail-oriented and calm under pressure 
  • Positive, proactive, and solution-focused 
  • Interested in working in an international, multicultural environment 

Experience in student services, hospitality, reservations, or call-centre environments is an advantage.

Requirements

  • Full professional fluency in English 
  • Valid work rights in Australia 
  • Driving license is an advantage but not essential
