We're looking for a dynamic and guest-focused Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to lead Conference & Events operations within our luxury five-star hotel. You'll be a visible leader on the floor, briefing teams, managing event delivery, and ensuring every guest experience meets Sofitel's exceptional standards. When events are quieter, you'll flex across our Restaurant, Bar, Pool Side, and Room Service outlets, making this a varied and rewarding role.

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of Conference & Events F&B service, ensuring all events meet confirmed requirements and hotel standards
  • Act as F&B Duty Manager on shift, providing visible floor leadership and escalating matters where required
  • Review Banquet Event Orders, run sheets and floor plans to ensure operational readiness and accurate setup
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings, allocate roles, and coach supervisors and ambassadors throughout service
  • Liaise with event clients, organisers and key contacts to confirm requirements and ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Prepare and manage C&E rosters in line with event forecasts, labour targets and HIGA Award requirements
  • Monitor service standards, beverage and food presentation, table maintenance and guest engagement throughout each event
  • Support revenue opportunities through upselling, beverage recommendations and awareness of hotel promotions
  • Ensure compliance with RSA, food safety, liquor licensing, hygiene and House Management policies
  • Support induction, training and performance feedback for supervisors and ambassadors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional hotel departments including Kitchen, Front Office, Housekeeping, Finance and People & Culture

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

 

  • Experience in Food & Beverage operations within a five-star or luxury hotel environment, Conference & Events experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrated supervisory or assistant management experience leading service teams in fast-paced environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Banquet Event Orders, event run sheets, floor plans and service timings
  • Rostering experience with the ability to plan labour in line with business levels, event needs and Award conditions
  • Current RSA certification and solid understanding of liquor licensing requirements
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
  • Strong guest and client relationship skills, with confidence representing the hotel during live events
  • Commercial awareness across labour control, stock management, billing accuracy and revenue generation
  • Ability to work across multiple F&B outlets as required
  • A distinguished personal presentation in line with the Sofitel brand and luxury attitude
