About the Role:
This Part Time (20hrs per week) role sits at the frontline of venue operations, where decisions matter and pace is part of the job.
We’re looking for Duty Managers who love being in the thick of it. People who are energised by juggling priorities, making calls on the go, and keeping operations running smoothly no matter what the day throws at them.
You’ll be at the helm of day-to-day operations, leading safety, responding to incidents, supporting teams, and making real-time decisions that keep our venues safe and performing at a high standard.
If you’re someone who lives and breathes operations, safety, and customer experience — and you’re quick on your feet when things change — this role will suit you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Duty Manager, you are the central point of control during operations. You set the tone, you manage the moment, and you step in when it counts.
Your focus will include:
Leading the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the venue
Acting as Chief Warden and taking control during emergency situations
Responding to incidents, first aid situations, and operational disruptions with confidence and clarity
Troubleshooting issues in real time and making sound decisions under pressure
Supporting and guiding staff to deliver safe, high-quality experiences
Monitoring venue activity, including access control and CCTV
Conducting daily inspections and ensuring the facility is ready for operation
Managing contractors and ensuring compliance with safety requirements
Supporting major events and managing crowd movement and behaviour
Identifying risks before they become problems and taking action early
You won’t be doing this alone. The Duty Manager team works collectively to manage the operational roster across venues, maintain safety and incident systems, and support broader venue operations.
What We’re Looking For - This role suits people who are:
Naturally organised and able to prioritise competing demands
Calm, decisive, and clear-thinking in high-pressure situations
Strong communicators who can lead people and manage stakeholders
Hands-on leaders who are visible, present, and engaged in operations
Passionate about safety, service, and doing things properly
You’ll also bring:
Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management role in a large, complex environment
Strong understanding of WHS, risk, and emergency management
Proven ability to manage incidents, conflict, and operational challenges
Experience working with teams, contractors, and stakeholders in a live environment
A continuous improvement mindset and ability to problem solve on the go
Required Qualifications:
Pool Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR and Advanced Resuscitation
Asthma and Anaphylaxis management
Working with Children Check
Responsible Service of Alcohol
Australian Driver’s Licence
Aquatic Technical Operator certification
