We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled Chef to join our team at Juniper Korumup in Albany in a permanent, fixed-term position covering parental leave.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to meet the dietary needs of our residents. Working alongside a supportive team of catering staff, you’ll ensure all food service operations align with Juniper’s policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and meal presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook food
• Clean cooking areas and equipment
• Maintain safe food hygiene practices
• Manage resources – includes ordering and stock control
• Manage staff – supervision and delegation as required
• Ensure compliance with Occupational, Safety and Health requirements
• Act in accordance with the continuous improvement of the facility, engaging with residents and attendance at facility based resident meetings

Key requirements:

• Trade certificate / Cert 3 or equivalent qualification - desired
• Experience in commercial cooking environment and/or aged care catering - essential
• Current knowledge of Food Safe Plus practices and Hygiene standards, quality system requirements & the principles of relevant aged & resident care legislation
• Knowledge of dietary nutrition for the aged
• Understanding of infection control
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
