About the opportunity

This is a well-established 72-place long day care service with a strong reputation for quality, consistency, and trust within the local community.

The service operates at full occupancy with a waitlist in place — a reflection of an established, over-ratio team who know what they are doing and work well together. With a stable and experienced team and consistently strong Assessment and Rating outcomes, quality and consistency are part of the everyday, not something that needs to be chased.

As Centre Director, you will take custodianship of a service where systems, team capability, and community reputation are already strong. Your focus will be on maintaining momentum, supporting your team, and ensuring the service continues to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across all areas.

You will be supported by established systems and a team that understands what high-quality practice looks like in action. The service itself is thoughtfully designed, with a strong emphasis on open-ended environments and natural elements. Each of the five rooms offers age-appropriate indoor and outdoor spaces for children to explore and engage with.

About you

You bring a calm, measured leadership style and take pride in maintaining high standards over time, while bringing out the best in the team around you.

You are most effective when leading capable teams, strengthening systems, and ensuring high-quality practice is embedded as part of the everyday norm. You consistently place children's best interests at the centre of decision-making.

You value stability, professional trust, and environments where strong systems and team capability are already in place.

Requirements

  • More than two years of experience as a Centre Director, or five years in an Assistant Director role
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (highly regarded) or an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Proven experience with Assessment and Rating, with favourable outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain team stability and a positive workplace culture
  • Confidence in leading experienced educators with a balanced, respectful approach
  • Practical understanding of occupancy, family engagement, and service reputation
