Your Role

Are you passionate about nourishing our community and providing warm, culturally welcoming hospitality?

MDAS is looking for a Catering Assistant to join our team in our Swan Hill office. In this role, you will assist in the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals and catering services for our community programs, events, and daily operations.

You will work as part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team to ensure a clean, safe, and culturally respectful kitchen environment that keeps our Community well-fed and connected.

In this role you will 

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of nutritious, high-quality meals and refreshments,
  • Support catering requirements for internal meetings, community events, and programs,
  • Maintain strict kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards at all times,
  • Deliver friendly, respectful, and culturally appropriate hospitality to all community members and staff,
  • Work collaboratively as part of a busy kitchen and broader organisational team

This is a casual position with weekly rostered hours and is based at our Swan Hill office location.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply.

About you

  • Experience in food preparation, commercial kitchens, catering, or a hospitality environment,
  • A strong understanding of food hygiene, safe food handling practices, and kitchen safety,
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with a customer-focused approach,
  • A good understanding of cultural safety and the diverse needs of our community,
  • The ability to complete daily kitchen tasks efficiently and work effectively as part of a team
