Casual Catering Assistant

We are currently seeking 2 x Casual Catering Assistants to become part of the Spotless team at the Brisbane Immigration Detention Centre in Pinkenba. As a subcontractor for Secure Journeys, Spotless will handle the preparation and serving of a variety of nutritious meals that cater to cultural diversity, aiming to enhance the health and well-being of individuals in the centres.

You must have a Certificate II or higher in Commercial Cookery.

This role offers a variety of responsibilities, including:

• Assisting with the assembly, preparation, and production of meals as directed by the Chef Manager or Head Chef.
  Cleaning kitchen, food preparation, and dining areas, as well as cooking equipment and utensils.
• Adhering to the HACCP Food Safety Plan by maintaining food safety standards, ensuring hygiene practices are followed, and accurately completing all required documentation.
• Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures.

What you'll bring:

• Must have Cert II - Kitchen Operations or higher
• Food Safety Certificates
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment
• Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
