We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our team at Fountain Gate in Narre Warren, Australia. In this role, you will be the face of our café, crafting high-quality beverages and creating memorable experiences for our customers. You'll work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where attention to detail and genuine hospitality are essential. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in coffee preparation with exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, specialty coffees, and other drinks with precision and consistency
• Operate and maintain espresso machines and other café equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing personalized recommendations based on customer preferences
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
• Process transactions using the point-of-sale system and handle cash with accuracy
• Build positive relationships with customers through friendly and empathetic interactions
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations during peak and off-peak hours
• Customize beverages to meet individual customer requirements and dietary needs
• Restock supplies and manage inventory as needed
• Contribute to a welcoming café atmosphere that encourages repeat business

• Proven experience operating espresso machines and preparing specialty coffee beverages
• Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain friendly and patient in high-volume environments
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality in beverage preparation
• Preferred: Barista certification or formal coffee training
• Preferred: Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment
• Preferred: Knowledge of coffee origins, roasting profiles, and flavor characteristics
