Pembroke School, located in Kensington Park, is seeking a casual Barista to join their vibrant Yellow Submarine Café. This beautiful, welcoming café is inspired by the celebrated Yellow Submarine traineeship venture in the UK — a program designed to empower individuals to develop new skills, gain valuable experience, and build confidence in a supportive environment.

• Work 3 days per week, 4.5‑hour shifts, Monday–Friday only — no school‑holiday work

Chartwells are specialists in providing catering and hospitality services in education. Our goal is to provide engaging and nutritious dining solutions tailored to support academic achievement at the highest levels.

The Position:

• Customer‑facing café tasks including coffee making, serving customers, selling pastries, and completing light food preparation
• Comfortable producing high-quality consistent coffees, with speed
• Operating the POS system.
• Excellent communication, with great customer service skills.
• Ensuring that the machine is maintained at optimal efficiency.
• Calibrating the grind at regular intervals.
• Provide a warm, friendly, and welcoming style of service to our amazing customers.

The Person:

• Customer service experience in a café‑style environment, with barista skills preferred
• A genuine team player who enjoys working with others
• Strong personal presentation and grooming standards
• Reliable, professional, and committed to high work ethics
• Comfortable with customer interaction and ensuring a smooth, friendly service experience
• Able to follow basic food‑safety and hygiene practices
• Holds a current Working with Children Check (SA)
