Job Description

• With your experience, create an impact on our guests in this hands-on and detail orientated role

We’re hiring a casual Demi Chef to join us for the busy summer season. You'll ideally be able to commit to at least six months, including availability over the festive Christmas and New Year period.

What you’ll do:

We are seeking an experienced, passionate and innovative Demi Chef to join our team at Strahan Village in this casual position. You may work in a variety of our dining venues, providing exceptional service with a warm welcome. You'll use your experience and creativity to help build the identity of our venues from collaborative menu development, through to assisting in supervising and developing our cooks and kitchen attendants.

What you’ll bring:  

• Strong hands-on experience in kitchen operations with a clear understanding of the logistics of restaurants and functions catering
•  2 years+ of modern Australian cooking experience
• A passion for your trade and for creating and presenting contemporary dishes using local produce
• Demonstrated excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills 
• Demonstrated computer literacy, particularly with common office applications
• Formal qualifications in commercial cookery
• The ability to work productively in a fast-paced, buzzing work environment, dealing with a high volume of covers in a short period of time
• Possess a Do Food Safely Certificate of completion
