This will be a Permanent Part -time role from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for the successful candidate who has a passion for working in the aged care setting.

As Cook you are a valuable member of the team working under direction and support of the Chef Manager.

Location 

Located in Central Highgate, close to the Perth CBD, Aegis Lincoln Park offers Low and High Care, with ageing in place where possible Aegis Lincoln Park offers a range of accommodation and lifestyle options for 46 residents in four areas to complement a vibrant community in caring for the elderly. Of these rooms, 14 have ensuite bathrooms. The wings all have dining areas and access to gardens and patio areas.

About the Role

A working day will involve:

  • Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.
  • Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
  • Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

About You

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

  • Enjoys working with the elderly.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.
  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.

You should possess the following:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
  • Aged Care experience (highly regarded).
  • A high level of food safety knowledge.
  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
