About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Chef to join our team at Busy Bees at Lara on a full-time basis. The Chef plays a vital role in creating nutritious and delicious meals for children, ensuring dietary requirements are met, and promoting a healthy food culture within the centre.
As a Chef, you will:
Plan and prepare fresh, healthy meals and snacks for children each day
Cater to dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen that meets food safety standards
Work with educators to incorporate food education into children’s learning
Manage stock, supplies, and kitchen budgets efficiently
Ensure compliance with Busy Bees food policies and relevant regulations
What You’ll Need
Relevant Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
Previous experience in a childcare, school, or similar catering environment
Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements for children
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Current VIC Working with Children Check (Employee)
Excellent organisational and time management skills
