We are currently seeking a Casual Catering Assistant to join the Spotless team located at Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre, Broadmeadows VIC. Spotless, as a subcontractor to Secure Journeys, will be responsible for preparing and serving culturally diverse, nutritious meals contributing to the overall health and well-being of those in the centres.

We are currently seeking a Casual Catering Assistant to join the Spotless team under its subcontract to Secure Journeys. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals, contributing to the overall well-being of individuals in the centre.
What you'll do
The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:
Assemble, prepare, and produce food requirements as directed by the Chef Manager/Head Chef.
Cleaning the food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils.
Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitoring food safety standards and practices, maintaining hygiene in food preparation areas, and completing all Food Safety Documentation accurately and timely.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated following safe work procedures, maintained in a clean and safe condition.
To be successful, you'll have:
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment
Bulk cooking experience similar to aged care or resources backgrounds
Has a Certificate II Kitchen Operations or willing to undertake this course
Food Safety Certificates
Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
