The Role:

The Hospitality Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, preparing, plating, and serving nutritious meals that meet residents’ individual dietary needs, ensuring smooth meal service across kitchen and dining areas. They role-model exceptional customer service and work closely with Kitchen Coordinators, Hospitality Assistants, Carers, and other staff to create an enjoyable dining experience for Amana Living residents. Key duties also include regular food ordering, stocktaking, maintaining signing sheets, and keeping kitchens, serveries, and dining rooms clean and well maintained.

In this role you get to learn the ins and out of the Hospitality Supervisor role before taking your skills to one of our Residential Care facilities. 

This is a permanent full time role working 76 hours per fortnight Monday to Friday. 

Please note the primary workplace for this role will be both Lefroy Care Centre and Moline House, please see below roster

 

Monday: 0700-1515- Moline

Tuesday: 0700-1515- LCC

Wednesday: 0700-1515- LCC

Thursday: 0700-1515- Moline

Friday: 0700-1515- LCC

 

Key responsibilities:

Staff Supervision and Training

  • Supervise and lead a team of employees
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on customer service, operational procedures, and safety protocols
  • Responsible for providing training/induction to new hospitality kitchen hands and care staff

Customer Service

  • Ensure that guests are receiving excellent service throughout their visit.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor the quality of services being offered and make adjustments to improve the guest experience.

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations, including monitoring cleanliness, and food and beverage service – breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon tea, supper
  • Adherence to dietary requirements (allergies, texture modified, etc.)
  • Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff.

Inventory and Supplies Management

  • Monitor stock levels of supplies and materials, including linens, cleaning supplies, and food and beverage and order necessary items.
  • Ensure proper storage and usage of supplies

Financial and Budgeting Responsibilities

  • Assist in budgeting and cost control, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and the facility operates within budget.

Compliance and Policies

  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies, including health and safety, alcohol service, and employee conduct.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, trends, and regulations to ensure compliance and quality service.
  • Report all incidents and hazards promptly

Problem Solving and Decision Making

  • Resolve operational or guest-related issues promptly and professionally.

Quality Control

  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, checking serveries, dining rooms for any issues.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and review feedback to implement improvements
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance in Food Safety program
  • Responsible for preparing sites for third party audits and council visits
  • Responsible for submitting monthly worksheets to Service manager in a timely manner

Event Coordination (If Applicable)

  • In some environments, you may help with the organisation and coordination of events such as birthdays and other celebrations
  • Preparing food to a high standard and level of presentation
  • Stock ordering, rotation, and stocktaking
  • Maintain a clean kitchen, equipment, and utensils

Personal Development

  • Attends and actively participates in compulsory training sessions and meetings as required by the Service Manager

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Evidence of Current Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical and reference checks
  • NDIS Screen Check (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to develop understanding relationships with residents.
  • Certificate/Qualification in Cooking / Food Preparation required
  • Previous kitchen / food preparation experience (with experience in the hospitality Industry required)
