The Opportunity

We’re building a practical, year-round content platform around our food, beverage and hospitality events and we’re looking for a hands-on Editor & Content Producer to bring it to life. This is a role for someone who loves creating high-value B2B content that helps real operators, buyers and suppliers make better commercial, operational and product decisions.

This isn’t a traditional newsroom or breaking-news job. It’s output-led and audience-first: interviews, guides, reports, buyer-facing explainers, trend pieces, practical operator content, show storytelling and sharply produced conference agendas that create genuine value before, during and after our events.

The portfolio is one of the most exciting in the Australian events landscape. It’s anchored by Food & Hospitality Week, bringing together the Restaurant & Foodservice Show, Pizza Pasta & Italian Food Show, RESTECH and the Cafe & Coffee Show, alongside Food & Hospitality Queensland and a growing suite of foodservice digital channels, including Restaurant Business.

Reporting to the Portfolio Director, you’ll combine strong editorial judgement with conference production capability and real commercial acumen. Alongside producing content and event programs, you’ll lead the development of a digital commercialisation model for Restaurant Business and work hand-in-hand with the sales team — arming them with the audience data, content metrics and commercial packaging that turn editorial value into digital revenue, all without losing audience trust. You’ll also manage and develop the Production Manager, who supports across the event programming and Restaurant Business channels.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality B2B editorial across interviews, features, guides, reports, explainers, case studies, show previews and post-event wrap-ups — weighted toward useful, insight-led content rather than high-volume news rewrites
  • Own a practical editorial calendar built around audience needs, market themes, product cycles, event milestones and seasonal planning periods
  • Research market themes, operator pain points and innovation trends to shape conference agendas and content tracks across Food & Hospitality Week and Food & Hospitality Queensland
  • Develop session ideas and agenda structures, then identify, secure and prep speakers, moderators and contributors who bring genuine operator, buyer and thought-leadership value
  • In partnership with the Portfolio Director, design and build the digital commercialisation model for Restaurant Business — content packages, audience products, newsletter sponsorships, native content and buyer guides
  • Equip the sales team with audience data, content performance metrics and commercial packaging that make digital inventory easier to sell and more compelling to buyers
  • Work directly with paid sponsors and content partners to deliver programs that maximise their reach and outcomes while protecting editorial integrity and audience trust
  • Build and maintain relationships with chefs, operators, consultants, buyers, suppliers, speakers and industry bodies across the portfolio
  • Manage, direct and develop the Production Manager - maintaining publishing cadence, CMS accuracy, deadlines and content administration standards
  • Track performance across newsletters, articles, guides, reports and conference sessions, using insight to sharpen future content and program decisions

Must-haves

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior B2B editorial, content or publishing role - ideally within events, trade media or a related industry
  • A commercially literate editor who understands how content creates audience value and how that value translates into revenue
  • Experience designing or contributing to digital commercial products, content packages, sponsored programs, native formats or audience-data-backed sales tools
  • Strong conference production capability, including agenda development, speaker recruitment and onsite delivery
  • Experience managing at least one direct report, with a track record of clear direction and team development
  • Deep knowledge of, or genuine curiosity about, the food, beverage and hospitality industry
  • Organised and deadline-driven, comfortable managing multiple outputs across editorial, commercial and event production at once
  • Confident working directly with commercial partners and sponsors without compromising editorial standards

What we offer

  • Attractive base salary + performance incentives
  • Respect, WFH flexibility and transparency
  • Modern offices with all the cool stuff
  • A culture that celebrates wins
  • A fun, dynamic and supportive team environment
  • Regular social events
