The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and service-driven Bar Supervisor to join our award-winning Food & Beverage team.

Working within our bespoke cocktail bar, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences through refined service, expert beverage knowledge, and strong operational leadership. You will support the day-to-day supervision of the bar, ensuring service standards are consistently upheld while fostering a positive and engaging team culture.

With a hands-on approach and keen attention to detail, you will help create memorable experiences for our guests while supporting the success and reputation of one of Hobart's premier bar destinations.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Support the day-to-day supervision of bar operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and smooth service delivery
  • Lead by example on the floor, maintaining luxury hospitality standards and creating memorable guest experiences
  • Assist in training, coaching, and developing bar associates to enhance performance and product knowledge
  • Ensure all beverages are prepared and presented to brand and venue standards
  • Maintain strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and current beverage trends
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, stock control, and inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol requirements and venue policies
  • Manage guest feedback, concerns, and service recovery professionally and effectively
  • Support rostering, shift handovers, and daily operational administration as required
  • Foster a positive team culture through effective communication and collaboration
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and workplace safety throughout the venue
  • Assist in driving beverage sales and achieving departmental performance objectives
  • Uphold brand standards in all guest interactions and team leadership activities

 

Profile

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a premium bar, cocktail venue, restaurant, or hotel environment
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beverage service standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and personalised service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Understanding of stock control, inventory management, and cost-conscious operations
  • Ability to resolve guest concerns professionally and effectively
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to luxury hospitality standards
